With the nation’s fast development within the last 20 years, populace rationally began facing all kinds of superficial prosperity is reconsidering this confusion and is breaking due to the rapid development. But for the emerging creativity industry, the only part catching major media consists merely of the individuals and events on top of the current. But the group of China's designers is not only this elite appreciated by overseas, those designers being titled with new-fashion, this class with amazing salaries in 4A Companies. The power of this troop mainly relies on crowds working in other fields related to the creativity industry, on these people being employed in even smaller cities, on countless graduated students who prepared to devote themselves to the design industry.
Compared to other industries, China’s contemporary design industry is more incompatible. It stays between the commercial world and its artistic level, wishing to be satisfactory to both sides, which is rather difficult to achieve. Facing too many enticements, practitioners can also hardly separate stunts and falsities from the nature of things. Practitioners’ identity becomes fuzzier and fuzzier, without an explicit standard to compartmentalize. Therefore the word ‘designer’ has a broad meaning, with delicate classification.
To accurately reflect the status quo of China’s contemporary designers, we propose the plan named ‘Unprosperous & Unbroken’. We hope that all the designers participate in the plan to share their experiences. We named it ‘Unprosperous & Unbroken’, because we see the excellent aspects of Chinese design, but still without catholicity. Chinese design is in a great deal of lurches and helplessness, even though, the idealism and creativity is still alive. We don’t expect the plan of ‘Unprosperous & Unbroken’ can solve this problem, but we indeed hope it can lead us to find where the problem is located..
